1. Why Change Your Samsung Account Country or Region?
Changing your Samsung account's country or region ensures that you receive localized services, access region-specific content, and comply with local regulations. However, this process comes with certain restrictions, including a 180-day waiting period before making another change.
2. How to Change Your Samsung Account Country or Region
Follow these steps to update your Samsung account's country or region:
By Computer
- Go to account.samsung.com and log in to your Samsung account.
- Click on Profile.
- Scroll down and select Edit personal information.
- Click on Country or region.
- Select the desired region and country, then click Change.
- Read the information provided on-screen, check the box, and click Change to confirm.
By Phone
Currently, Samsung account users cannot change their country or region directly through the Samsung Members app. Instead, open your phone's internet browser and follow the steps above for changing the country or region on a computer.
Note: An update scheduled for December 2023 will enable users to change their country or region directly through the Samsung app on their phones.
3. What Happens After Changing Your Country or Region?
Once you change your Samsung account's country or region, the following changes will occur:
- Devices connected to your Samsung account will be automatically signed out, and you will need to sign in again.
- Certain services or features, such as SmartThings, may become unavailable depending on the new region.
- Your account purchase history will only display purchases made in the selected country or region. To view previous purchases, you must revert to the original country or region.
4. Supported Samsung Galaxy Devices
This feature is compatible with most Samsung Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S26, Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy A series.
5. When Can't You Change Your Samsung Account Country or Region?
There are several cases where changing your Samsung account's country or region may be restricted:
- After changing your country or region, you must wait 180 days (about 6 months) before making another change.
- Family group accounts and children accounts cannot change their country or region.
- Galaxy Store seller accounts require a change request through the Samsung customer center.
- Accounts with a European country as their current region may be restricted due to GDPR processing.
- Accounts with a phone number ID only cannot change their country or region.
- Users under the minimum age limit for their country cannot change their region.
- Chinese accounts cannot change their country or region, and non-China Mainland accounts cannot switch to China Mainland.
